Division of Biochemistry
Research in the Divison of Biochemitry at MBB is centered around biochemical  redox biology particularly studies of the thioredoxin and glutaredoxin systems. Projects relate to KO in mice of Grx2a, the role of thioredoxin in insulin signalling and degradation,ROS-generating vitamins in cancer adjuvant therapy and studies of the enzymatic mechanisms of ribonucleotide reductase.

Duties
The researcher is expected to actively participate in research and apply for funds as well as qualify for a docentship with the aim of being an independent group leader. Teaching KI students at all levels in the Department  is an important aspect. Supervision of visiting researchers and student in laboratory work is also a duty.

Entry requirements
A person is eligible to be appointed Senior Researcher if he or she has been awarded a Degree of Doctor or has achieved the corresponding scientific competence, as well as documented research after publicly defending his or her doctoral thesis corresponding to qualification as Assistant professor.

In addition to this, displayed pedagogical proficiency or other related skills that are relevant to the appointment's duties may be required to be eligible.

Bases of assessment
Documented experience in research involving thioredoxin and glutaredoxin systems is an important aspect in selecting candidates.
