The applicant will be expected to conduct his/her research in cardiovascular immunology and metabolism with a focus on developing new therapies against atherosclerosis and cardiovascular diseases. The applicant should develop his/her project exploring the potential of modulating immunometabolic pathways to identify novel therapeutic targets against inflammation, lipid metabolism, and atherosclerosis. Applicants are expected to conduct high quality research in a collaborative manner. The postdoctoral fellow will be responsible for the planning of the project as well as data acquisition, preparation and analysis, manuscript writing and other activities for disseminating the results. Work is also to seek external research funding from external funding agencies.

The work will mainly involve in vivo studies. The candidate must have a proven experience and knowledge in experimental models of atherosclerosis and/or cardiovascular diseases. Candidate should ideally have broad knowledge of science, and experience in the fields of immunology, and/or biochemistry, and pharmacology. Additional experience with the following technologies should be considered a plus: experience with human samples and biobanks, bioinformatics, and functional immune assays. He/she is expected to cooperate in national and international networks, so experience of working in networks of researchers and English language skills at a high level is required.
