Ming Wai Lau Centre for Reparative Medicine, KI, Hong Kong

Ming Wai Lau Centre for Reparative Medicine (MWLC) aims to contribute to the improvement of human health by conducting cutting-edge research in reparative medicine and related subjects, by creating a new platform for synergies between academia and innovation in Sweden and Hong Kong as well as China, and fostering future leaders in both academia and industry.

Description of research group and project

Prof Ronald Li’s laboratory is focused on cell-based heart regeneration, in particular engineering of human cardiac tissues from human pluripotent stem cells to study the fundamental biological mechanisms underlying a range of heart conditions with the goal of identifying new biomarkers for these diseases. On the translational front, such human heart prototypes are being used to facilitate the discovery and development of novel drugs and therapeutics.

We are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to participate in our research with focus on the biology of human pluripotent stem cell-based engineered cardiac tissue and the development of novel engineered tissue-based diagnostic models. The successful applicant will join an exciting research programme in collaboration with both local and international research groups.

One postdoc position in Cell-based Cardiac Regeneration

Specific responsibilities and requirements:

  • The applicant should possess a PhD degree or equivalent in biomedical sciences, bioengineering or a related discipline with a good publication record.
