The Integrated Cardio Metabolic Centre (ICMC) has been recently established as a research collaboration between Karolinska Institutet and AstraZeneca to better understand cardiovascular and metabolic diseases (http://ki.se/en/medh/integrated-cardio-metabolic-centre-icmc). 

A postdoctoral research fellow position for a highly motivated candidate is available in the laboratory of Dr. Myriam Aouadi (http://ki.se/en/medh/myriam-aouadi-group). The focus of this position is to investigate cellular and molecular regulators of liver and adipose tissue inflammation and function in the context of obesity and diabetes. 

Entry requirements
A person is eligible for a position as Postdoctoral Researcher if he or she has obtained a PhD no more than seven years before the last date of employment as postdoc. The term can be extended under special circumstances.

Highly motivated, hardworking candidates with a recent PhD in biochemistry, molecular biology or relevant fields are encouraged to apply. The candidate is required to have hands on experience and expertise in biochemistry and molecular biology, with an emphasis on cellular energy metabolism, such as mitochondrial function and glycolysis. Prior experience working with rodent models is required. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in immunology, metabolic flux analysis and metabolomics. Candidates should also have published as lead author in peer-reviewed journals in the field of energy metabolism. The successful candidate will be required to show the ability to work in a team, with scientific rigor, and capacity to clearly transfer knowledge. Excellent ability to communicate in English is required.

The successful candidate will be responsible for: 
- designing projects and protocols
- perform experiments and contribute to team projects
- carefully document protocols, results and interpretation.
- train students and other lab members
- report results at lab meetings and review of literature
- interact with other lab members and collaborators
- attend seminars, conferences, department and lab meetings
- clearly communicate results and provide feedback
