The Department is organized in 10 divisions: Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, Pediatric Endocrinology, Pediatric Surgery, Neuropediatrics, Pediatric Oncology, Neonatology, Reproductive Endocrinology, Neuropsychiatry (KIND), Reproductive and Perinatal Health. The divisions have separate scientific profiles and vary in size and have several research groups, dealing with both basic and clinical science.

The position is in the pediatric endocrinology laboratory. One of the current projects in the laboratory is to investigate deleterious effects of environmental chemicals on the development of male external genitalia and fetal testicular steroidogenesis in humans.

The successful applicant will work at the pediatric endocrinology laboratory at the Department of Women´s and Children´s Health at Karolinska Institutet in a highly international Environment. The project aim is to find out negative effects of environmental chemicals and to identify mechanisms affecting fetal testicular steroidogenesis and male external genitalia development in humans. The successful applicant should have expertise in anatomy of human fetuses, preparation of testicular organ cultures and primary cultures of the male external genitalia as well as strong knowledge in steroidogenesis and reproductive toxicology. Strong expertise in morphological and molecular methods which will be employed in the project (qPCR, automated western blot, IHC) is obligatory. The candidate is expected to be relatively independent in the areas of experimental design, data gathering and analysis as well as manuscript preparation. The position is a 14-month limited with possible prolongation.

Entry requirements
A person is eligible for a position as Postdoctoral Researcher if he or she has obtained a PhD no more than seven years before the last date of employment as postdoc. Applicants that have completed their PhD degree no more than two years before the last date for applications will be given priority.
