Research group

The research group is located at Dept. of Medicine, Huddinge and Dept. of Cell and Molecular Biology, Solna. The group consists of a team of physicians and scientists focused on studying pathways of human cardiogenesis and its implications for regenerative medicine. The research goal is finding novel pathways and principles for regenerative medicine in general, and repairing damaged cardiac muscle cells in particular.

Duties

  • writing ethical applications in Swedish for animal and human research and assisting in contacts with ethical boards and authorities
  • performing immunohistochemistry or immunofluorescence on the sectioned tissue, cell culturing etc
  • production of smart-seq libraries for single cell RNA sequencing
  • production of modRNA for the lab
  • assist lab members with molecular biology work such as molecular cloning, production of modified mRNA, PCR and analysis, as well as protein expression and analysis (i.e. Western blotting and ELISA)
  • assist lab members with experiments such as paraffin/cryo tissue embedding and sectioning
  • assist lab member for animal breeding, injections and harvesting tissues etc
  • assist lab manager as needed with inventory, orders, distribution of general supplies and genotyping of experimental animals
