Established in June 2013, the Karolinska Institutet/AstraZeneca Integrated Cardio Metabolic Centre (KIAZ ICMC) represents a unique and exciting opportunity for academic scientists to collaborate and work side-by-side with scientists from the pharmaceutical industry to discover and develop the next generation of medicines to treat cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. More information about AZ/KI ICMC can be found at http://ki.se/en/medh/integrated-cardio-metabolic-centre-icmc.
Description of the research group
The central scientific interest of Myriam Aouadi’s lab is to understand the interaction between the immune system and metabolism at the molecular and cellular level, with the ultimate goal of applying the developmental principles, logic, pathways, technology, and model systems to unravel human metabolic disease. We use several different approaches to study immunometabolic diseases, including next generation sequencing, gene manipulation and in vivo systems.
Responsibilities
We are seeking a candidate with an extensive background in experimental laboratory work. Applicants should be familiar with experimental methods used to study metabolic diseases and immunology.
You will work closely with researchers and assist in the introduction of the laboratory for new staff, guest researchers and graduate students as well as with the development and improvement of experimental methods.
