At the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology we teach and conduct internationally acclaimed, high-quality research in Physiology, Pharmacology, Anesthesiology and Intensive care. We have around 400 employees, 30 research groups, and 90 doctoral students. Our research fields include cellular signaling, cardiovascular and respiratory systems, neuropsychopharmacology, neuroinflammation, pharmacogenetics, regenerative medicine, Renal System, anesthesiology and intensive care, muscle physiology and pain. The section of pharmacogenetics is composed of about 10-15 people, senior researchers, post docs, PhD students and one technician. More information about research at The lab is situated at the Pharmacology building, Karolinska Institutet, Solna Campus.

The position as Postdoctoral Research Fellow will be fixed to two years with some possibilities for prolongation. The postdoctoral fellow is expected to play a leading role in experimental design, experimentation, analysis, and the presentation/publication of results. The research will be focused on analyses of liver function and disease using a novel 3D hepatic spheroid model system.

Entry requirements
A person is eligible for a position as Postdoctoral Researcher if he or she has obtained a PhD no more than seven years before the last date of employment as postdoc. The term can be extended under special circumstances.

The applicant should have a PhD degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, molecular genetics, physiology or similar, obtained within the last 7 years. The applicant is expected to have a good understanding of biochemical, molecular biology, and/or genetic techniques, good communication skills and good proficiency in spoken and written English. The applicant should have extensive experience of work with liver spheroids including publications as first authorship in papers presenting results using this technique.
